3、 Disadvantages of gear transmission:
Gear, box processing equipment, gear grinding process and assembly technology are more stringent, resulting in high manufacturing cost. Gear transmission has no overload protection and self-locking performance. It needs to be additionally equipped with brake device, relatively loud noise, small single-stage gear transmission speed ratio (generally no more than 1:7), etc. liquid lubricating oil must be added.
4、 Advantages of worm drive:
The single-stage reducer can obtain a large transmission ratio (generally 5 ~ 100), compact structure, and can be used with lubricating oil or grease. The transmission is stable, the noise is small, and the large speed ratio can realize self-locking performance. The connection of small single-stage + large single-stage reducer can increase the total speed ratio and torque. The application range can be further increased and the manufacturing cost is relatively low.
5、 Disadvantages of worm drive:
The transmission meshing efficiency is relatively low, and the greater the speed ratio, the lower the efficiency. It can only be in the form of straight and vertical output, which has certain restrictions on the application, the complex process of worm gear cast copper material and the high cost of small batch production.
